Bridge the Gap Program
Section 5.3A of Chapter 7 of The WV State Bar Rules and Regulations requires every newly admitted State Bar member to complete the Bridge the Gap Program within six months prior to admission or within twelve months after admission.
The Bridge the Gap seminar consists of presentations on legal ethics, office management, and the State Bar's programs and services. In addition, there are welcoming comments from the State Bar President, Executive Director and the Young Lawyers Section Chairperson. This seminar is available exclusively through this website only.
The Bridge the Gap online seminar requires
6.0 total mandatory CLE credit hours:
210 minutes covering general topics related to the practice of law in West Virginia. (See section A below)
100 minutes covering the practice areas of your choice. (See section B below)
Once you have completed the online seminar, you are required to certify that you have completed the course by going to www.wvbar.org and submitting your MCLE credit hours. The total numbers of credits from the Bridge the Gap course are: 6.00 including 1.00 credits in legal ethics.
The State Bar welcomes you as a newer member of The West Virginia State Bar and the practice of law in West Virginia.
